The National Dope Testing Laboratory (NDTL) is an autonomous body under Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Govt. of India. It is accredited by National Accreditation Board for Testing & Calibration Laboratories, NABL (2003) and World Anti Doping Agency (WADA) (2008) for testing of urine & blood samples from human sports. The accreditation for the testing of blood samples (Human Growth Hormone & Blood Parameters) acquired in April 2010.

Ethics Committee meeting was held on July 25, 2013 in the Conference Hall of NDTL

Dr. Alka Beotra, Scientific Director, and Dr. Rajiv Sareen, DD, NDTL attended symposium on "The History of Doping and Anti-Doping" in Doha, Qatar from May 6-7,2013

Dr. Shila Jain, Pr. Scientific Director, NDTL attended the WADA Laboratory Directors meeting in Sydney, Australia from March 20 - 22, 2013

Dr. Shila Jain, Pr. Scientific Director, NDTL & Sh. Sachin Dubey, Scientist 'B', NDTL attended & presented four research papers in the "31st Manfred Donike Workshop for Dope Analysis" in Cologne, Germany from February 24 - March 01, 2013

Under a training programme on "Chemical Analysis of Drugs" being conducted by Central Revenue Control Laboratory for Bangladeshi officials, Dr. Shila Jain, Pr. SD and Dr. Alka Beotra, SD give lecture on "Characterisation of Drugs by GC-MS/MS & LC-MS/MS" respectively during visit of Bangladeshi officials to NDTL on 22.11.2012.

In order to strengthen the African Indian Forum submit II, Dr. Hanno du Preez and Dr. Pieter Venter from South African Doping Control Lab (SADoCoL), Bloemfontein, South Africa are visited NDTL from 19th to 23rd November 2012 for sharing of knowledge.

Prof. Mario Thevis, Cologne, Germany visited NDTL from December 3 - 6, 2012 to provide support in method development for Insulin testing and to train NDTL scientists on analysis of new drugs.

Dr. Xavier De la Torree, Rome, Italy visited NDTL from December 3 - 7, 2012 to provide support in setting up IRMS method for 19-Nandrolone.

Dr Shila Jain, Pr Scientific Director attended 11th Annual USADA Symposium on “Deterring Athletes from Using Performance-Enhancing Drugs, in Atlanta, Georgia, USA from 11th Oct. to 17th Oct. 2012.

Dr. Alka Beotra, Scientific Director, NDTL and Ms. Madhu Joshi, Analyst were invited by the Director, Anti Doping Science Centre (ADSC), Harlow, UK to be part of the Olympics drug testing team. They contributed for the testing of samples for London 2012 Olympics from July 16- Aug 12, 2012.

In Pre-Olympic Conference, Dr. Rajiv Sareen, Deputy Director, NDTL and Mrs. Tejinder Kaur, Scientist 'C' & Dy. Quality Manager, NDTL presented their research papers in International Convention on Science, Education and Medicine in Sport (ICSEMIS) held at Glasgow, UK from 19 - 24 July, 2012

In order to strengthen the Africa Indian Forum Submit II, Dr. Shila Jain, Principal Scientific Director and Mr. B. Ranjith Lal, Lab Supervisor, NDTL visited South Africa Doping Control Laboratory (SADoCoL), Bloemfontein, South Africa (18 - 22 June, 2012) for sharing of knowledge.


Re-assessment audit of NDTL was held on April 3-4, 2012 for its biological and chemical activities
